What the sponsor says
Manes Fine Arts Award) for a work of art (painting, drawing, sculpture) that they have created. Each participating high school in Nassau County should pick 3 art students to receive the award. Your art department can decide how to pick the winning students. I suggest the awards be given during the time other awards are presented, possibly at graduation. In addition, the winners will then have their work of art displayed at the Nassau County Museum of Art and participate in another opportunity to win a $5000 scholarship in a juried exhibition at the Museum. Please let me know if your school would like to participate in this new and exciting awards program that will be offered on a annual basis for young artists. Sincerely yours, Harvey R. Manes, M.D., Esq. President The Nassau County Museum of Art received… to renovate a 1920 building belonging to the Frick family that was in severe disrepair in order to create the Manes Art and Education Center. Quoted from the page it was published on, word for word. This quote is cut off: we captured part of the sponsor's page, not all of it, so read the full text there before you apply. Where our summary above and this text disagree, this text is correct. Tell us and we'll fix the summary.
Our read on this award
3 figures we worked out, not the sponsor's. Free, and it takes an email address.
How these are worked out
- How narrow the field is.Read from where the sponsor restricts it. An award open to one high school is competing against a graduating class.
- Conditions to meet.More conditions means a smaller field, which is good news if you meet them.
- Where it sits.Ranked against every other award we hold, narrowest field and best value for the effort first.
- None of it is a chance of winning. We do not know how many people apply or how a sponsor chooses, so we do not publish a percentage. Anyone who does is guessing.
